Uluwatu Hotel is a conceptual architectural project that captures the essence of tropical luxury through a refined balance of modern design and its natural surroundings. Located in the breathtaking region of Uluwatu, Bali, the project responds to dramatic cliffside landscapes, panoramic ocean views, and a serene environmental context. Designed in 2024 by SHOVK in collaboration with 19 Būro, the hotel spans approximately 6000 square meters, reflecting a thoughtful and immersive approach to hospitality design.

The project is envisioned as more than just a place to stay; it is an experience shaped by emotion, atmosphere, and a deep connection to location. Every architectural decision is made to enhance the natural beauty of the site while offering guests a sense of calm, luxury, and escape. The design allows visitors to feel fully immersed in the surroundings, where the boundaries between built space and nature begin to dissolve.

At its core, the concept follows the philosophy of “living with the landscape, not above it,” ensuring that the architecture flows naturally with the terrain rather than dominating it. The structures are carefully positioned to respect the cliffs and maximize ocean views, creating a seamless relationship between the environment and the built form. This approach results in a design that feels organic, grounded, and visually harmonious.

Inspired by Bali’s tropical identity and combined with contemporary minimalism, the project achieves a balanced architectural language defined by raw materials, open spaces, and fluid transitions between indoor and outdoor areas. The overall experience is one of quiet sophistication, where simplicity, nature, and modern design come together to create a timeless and immersive hospitality environment.
